What does Got Your Six mean?
In the military, the clock provides a reference for direction. Got Your Six simply means 'I have your six o'clock', or 'I have your back' as Six o'clock is directly behind you.
As an organisation, we have you covered!
No matter what is going on for you, we've got you!
Is the Hub only for military?
Nope, we're open to all. Our Wincanton Hub is open to the whole community.
Our not-for-profit status provides support to those who serve(d) our country, but the Hub is open to aid integration and reduce isolation within the local community.
How is your therapy service different and how can you help me?
Tara works in a unique way providing military specific therapy; there's no fluffiness or "that sounds really hard for you", we understand that if you've reached out for help, things are pretty bad and you don't need to be told so.
We work entirely at your pace, in a way that works for you. Our therapy is open ended, meaning there is no pressure to deal with whatever you're wanting to process until you're ready.
Military life in itself is unique; those who serve are conditioned in a certain way...most notably to push away emotions and get on with the job in hand. Whilst sometimes this is necessary for operational capability, it isn't always healthy if it is not revisited at a more appropriate time.
Tara uses a huge range of techniques and methods to assist you in becoming the person you want to be.
From helping you understand your emotions, to using CBT to break unhelpful patterns, to working psychodynamically to uncover unconscious processes or explore childhood experiences.
Trauma shows up in different ways for different people. Whatever you're facing, we'll help you through it, whether it's day to day stresses, transitioning to civvy street, or service related issues...we have your six!
And yes, you can swear with Tara, she's a military spouse and she's definitely heard worse!
Our wrap around service means alongside your therapy, if you want to, you can benefit from peer support, socialisation, and being part of something bigger. Come along and be part of this family!
